Big Toilet Paper doesn’t want you to wash your aris.
Are the Met still racist sexist pieces of shit? Yup. This has been going on my entire life and yet somehow it hasn’t been fixed. Why is that? Could it be that this is a feature rather than a bug? Bet you a million quid that we’ll still be doing this in 30 years.
More on the met…
In one of the Met's specialist units, firearms command MO19, the report says some officers were primed on what to do if a WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram group was "compromised" - for example if there was a complaint about its contents or someone was under a misconduct investigation.
Officers in the unit would type LANDSLIDE into the group - prompting members to immediately leave the group, delete its contents and create a new group.
On the Tories proposed disability assessments changes. In our household both of us have been found ‘fit to work’ at different times, neither of us able to actually do so. Our experiences of disabled friends and clients tells us that this is not unusual - the system is as cruel and unfair as this articles suggests.
Someone moved my cushion #1:
Another year, another IPCC report telling us we need to make massive structural and individual changes in order to avoid disaster filed carefully in the bin.
Thirty years of privatisation has meant that our waters are full of shit and their wallets are full of money, and now we need to pay to do the work that they should have done in order to get the shit out of our water. Capitalism is fucking amazing. I bet some of you reading this still think this is the best way of getting things done.
On the budget, and a return to austerity and the transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich.
Someone moved my cushion #2
Heartbreaking news from Australia. We might have been able to save the Thylacine - it probably survived into the 1980s and maybe even as far as 2000.
The Labour Party is still a binfire. Here Martin Forde complains that the reforms that he suggested have only been halfarsed, and that the party is still factional. Why is that? Basically, the Labour party have used a tiny minority of arseholes to purge vast amounts of the left within the party but allow all sorts of racism to continue and don’t pay any attention to black and ethnic minority complaints unless it suits the factional divide. He was used by the Labour right as a stooge, a black man respected by all sides who could be trusted to speak truth to power, but then they ignored all the bits that didn’t allow them to clear out their enemies. Cynical and racist, and they expect us to vote for them because the Tories are differently bad.
Arbeit macht frei corner: A grouchy locum GP suggested that getting a job might help my mental health. I said that I had a job but left it because my mental health was too poor to be able to do it. He suggested volunteering. I said that I do voluntary work, but I can’t do much because I am a full time carer. At that moment we reached an empasse, divided by an uncrossable chasm.
The grand-fromage au Banko de England has issued a public warning to companies that rising prices harms people. As if no-one knew that already. As if all the capitalists existed in lands of magic money trees that just dispensed readies whenever needed. As if the whole cost of living thing hadn’t been a thing for the last few years, or austerity and the Long Depression before that, or the collapse of the Western Banking System and the subsequent nationalisation of that collapse in order to prevent rich people suffering any losses. No, he knows, and they know, that rising prices harms people - indeed, they know that the entire capitalist system is a system of infinite exploitation of finite resources, that it exists parasitically, extracting more labour and more rent weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. They all know that we have reached saturation point, can’t work harder, can’t spend more, can’t import the indentured labour we need to undercut local workers, can’t export our outputs to wealthier countries where the working classes still have money, because we’ve reached the finite points. They know, and they don’t give a fuck.
The only thing that will save capitalism from collapse will be war. Lovely, expensive, destructive war, with all the profits privatised and the costs nationalised. Otherwise it will become necessarily become feudalist - though likely through direct payments from state to capital to replace profits, as we are seeing since 2008, where vast swathes of the unprofitable capitalist sector are propped up with quantitative easing, or the various post-covid payments to businesses. Every few years a new crisis will require new payments, all to be paid back by the labour of our children and grandchildren, at the expense of their welfare and social sector, whilst the planet burns and sea-levels rise and the weather gets madder and madder and less predictable.
Oh, and as a post-script to that story, the governor of the Bank of England then says that he hasn’t seen any evidence that businesses are putting their prices up. Roll that around your head a bit. No evidence that prices are going up. I could give him some, I bet you could too. Perhaps we’re all just imagining the cost of living / profits crisis. Funny how the top economist in the country doesn’t seem to know what’s happening, or how, or why. Unless, of course, he’s a lying fuck who knows that the greedy fucks who sell us what we need to live are going to fuck up the economy big time and cause massive social hardships and even worse, some investments will fail, and they need to slow down their exploitation a little bit because as every good parasite knows if you drain the host dry you can’t drain it again next week. But he can’t say that, so instead we get this gaslighting dishonest announcement, a warning to those that understand in ways that won’t alarm the cattle…
